Here's something about Drew...

Drew-Designs is the platform of Drew Cartwright. I find the creation of websites challenging & rewarding; It is giving form to an idea via engaging aesthetics, clear writing, and new technology. I love making something functional that looks good, too.

Early on, my focus was commercial art. In only four years of high school I managed to squeeze six years of art classes, foreshadowing my college path. After graduating from high school I enlisted in the U.S. military, where I earned money for college while gaining experience and leadership skills. I was recognized with several awards and medals including decorations for conflict operations while on deployments. Fulfilling my contractual obligation, I received an Honorable Discharge and set out on my path to higher education.

I have earning two separate degrees. As I studied for an Associate's Degree in Web Design, I simultaneously pursued a Bachelor's in Web Development to learn the underlying information architecture. While attending college full time, I annually administered the regional Skills USA event as well as taught at the Cisco Networking Academy for Web Design. As a regular on the Dean's list, I was recognized by the Collegiate Who's Who and am an Alpha Chi National Honors Society member. For my contributions to the university, I received the 2008 Indiana Institute of Technology Humanities Award. Before my Junior year I formed a small technology business with two fellow university students. My role included producing the marketing materials, interacting with clients, and actualizing the architecture of websites.

After graduation I relocated, at last fulfilling a dream of living in Colorado. Today I provide freelance Internet development and web design work to individuals and small businesses; occasionally I collaborate with other firms.
